Article in Wikipedia or Other Online Encyclopedias
Benefits of Getting Listed on Wikipedia:
Attract customers through search engines due to Wikipedia’s high-ranking articles
Increase brand trust and credibility
Obtain a link to your company’s website from a highly trusted resource
Strengthen your brand image and stand out from competitors
The cooperation structure looks like this:
-
A consultation on placing an article on Wikipedia costs $350. After payment, a date and time for an online interview are agreed upon.
-
The specialist analyzes your brand and agrees with you on a work plan for writing the article, including costs.
The work plan includes:
-
Analysis of how ready your brand is for a Wikipedia article
-
Conducting an interview to collect information about you and your brand
-
Agreeing on terms and dates for article and photo content approval (writing and publishing the article is not included in the consultation price)
-
Recommendations if your brand is not yet ready for publication, including additional tasks to prepare the brand
Typically, the process of writing and publishing an article on Wikipedia takes 1 to 4 months, depending on the complexity of the brand and content.
Online consultation
An online consultation is designed for anyone with questions about Wikipedia that do not involve creating a new page or restoring an old one.
Examples of questions:
-
How to properly post a photo so it isn’t deleted (for situations where the link doesn’t exist yet on Wikipedia)
-
How to correctly place links, or what to do if previously posted links were deleted after some time
-
The page is marked for deletion – how can it be saved?
-
Someone added inappropriate content to an existing page – how to remove questionable materials
-
Special cases, such as a client running for elections who wants a page about themselves
Note: The last example is an exception. Typically, we perform a wiki audit to ensure everything is ready for a page to exist. Sometimes, it’s better to first clarify the client’s goal through a consultation.
Format: Voice communication via messengers or phone
Consultation fee: $350
Duration: 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes
Wiki audit
A wiki audit is a detailed examination that includes:
-
In-depth research of independent, authoritative sources about the company or person.
-
Verification of whether the sources demonstrate the encyclopedic significance of the subject sufficiently.
-
Identification of potential pitfalls (risks of black PR, fake content, or artifacts on Wikipedia, such as traces of past unsuccessful attempts).
Based on this analysis, we calculate the potential of topics and their likelihood of success.
Positive audit:
We develop a strategy and calculate the project cost. Once the strategy is agreed upon with the client and the budget is approved, work on the article begins.
Negative audit:
We provide brief recommendations on how to improve the information field and which direction to move. These recommendations are included in the audit cost.
